2026 MVAC Scholarship Recipients
The Mission Viejo Activities Committee has established a volunteer scholarship program to honor high school seniors of exceptional character and dedication to volunteerism. The Scholarship Program is managed by the Mission Viejo Activities Committee. Recipients are selected without regard to race, ethnicity, religion or gender. MVAC awards five scholarships in increments of over $1,000. Awards are primarily based on Community Service.

Eligibility:
Applicants must:
- Be a student within the geographic region of the SVUSD or CVUSD district.
- Volunteer for at least 150 hours, of which 25 hours of your volunteer service must be within the City of Mission Viejo.
- Be a current high school senior enrolling as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. two- or four-year college/university or a technical/trade school with a certified program by the fall semester following graduation.
- Be able to document consistent community service hours throughout your high school career.
Application Process:
- Students must complete and submit the application online in full including an essay describing their volunteerism experience.
- The application must include contact information for two references from organizations listed on the application who can verify the applicant’s volunteer experiences listed on the application.
- Community service/volunteer hours will be verified with the information provided by the applicant.
- All information received is considered confidential and is reviewed only by the Scholarship Committee.
- Completed applications must be received by MVAC by March 15th.

Scholarship Awards:
Payments are authorized by the Executive Board on recommendation by the Scholarship Committee and are processed by the MVAC office staff. Payments are made in one installment in August. Checks are mailed to each recipient and are payable to both the student and the school. They must be endorsed by both parties. Applicants are required to notify the MVAC office of any change of address, school enrollment, or other relevant information.
Renewal of Award:
MVAC scholarships are not renewable.
Revisions:
The MVAC reserves the right to review the conditions and procedures of this scholarship program and to make changes at any time including termination of the program.
